Hey, guys. We’re just about ready to paint. So this is your final wall prepping.
Really stop and take a look at your wall. This is important. Now, our sandpaper, 100 is kind of a general, safe average for wall prepping. And we have that sanding sponge, multi-use, and also it says “fine”. So, it’s a fine, multi-use sanding wedge.
At this point, we’ve got blue tape protecting our light here. We didn’t want to remove that one. It’s wired in solid.
And I’ve got a patch, so let’s sand my patch. Get the edges sanded off. And again, we’re using self-priming paint. So this is our final prep.
Let’s take our 100 grit sandpaper. All right, so I’m just really getting into it.
Always have your scraper handy. So now you might find a hair. You know, little, little nuggets you come across. You can knock them off and make a really nice, smooth wall. Whatever it takes. At this stage there’s no rush.
Now, it’s okay to just use some warm water, a little bit of soap, and you can just kind of wipe the wall down. Especially if you see grease spots or any of those, especially around a kitchen or a bathroom, you want to wipe down that grease. Not too much over the patch.
And lastly, let’s not forget to take a look at it with a light. Shine a light on an angle and take a close look at your wall. It’s your wall, after all.
So do what it takes to properly prep before you bust out that paint, that roller, and that brush because this is your final chance.
